Like father, like son

Rob Hall and his son Nathan have a mutual love of MGs; a love that has led them to own an incredibly rare pair of matching cars registered consecutively, on the same day, at the Charles Hurst MG Rover Group dealership in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

“I guess it's all my fault, really,” said Rob. “I've always liked MGs and my first car at the age of 21, way back in 1988, was a 1978 1500 Midget, followed by a 1980 MGB GT a couple of years later. Both cars were very tired when I got them and needed extensive repairs even at 10 to 12 years old.

“The GT was registered REH 250W and, pleasingly, we've discovered that it is still on the road and owned by an MGCC member in Yorkshire. Then, in the mid 1990s, I had the pleasure of owning a diesel Rover 218. I met my wife when I was driving the Midget andspecial memories for me.”
