Describe your residence and its occupants as it relates to protective or defensive decision-making.

My fiancé, our three kids, my mom, and our two Corgis live in a single-story, ranch-style home off a busy street in a midsize town. When it comes to making defensive decisions, I’m always weighing the fact that the kids and pets will need to be accounted for. Good communication between the kids and us is a priority, as is having a set plan so everyone knows what to do. I also ensure we keep leashes in various places around the house, so we have the means to quickly restrain the dogs if needed.

How does your home/neighborhood environment affect your choice of home defense/bedside firearm and defense items?

Our neighborhood is open and near a major interstate, so we have a lot of unknown cars coming through the area throughout the day. Our dogs do a great job of alerting us to any vehicles or persons in the yard or driveway, which is very helpful in staying aware. Our house is on the smaller side when it comes
