PEAR AND CHOCOLATE SELF-SAUCING PUDDING

2 firm William pears
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1½ cups self-raising flour
⅓ cup cocoa powder
½ cup milk
2 eggs
100g butter, melted, cooled
Extra cocoa powder and vanilla ice-cream, to serve

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 Grease an ovenproof dish (12-cup capacity).
Peel and core pears. Cut into quarters, then into 1cm-thick wedges.
