ALL HANDS ON DECK (CHAIR)

DECKCHAIRS are a traditional fixture on our beaches. On a sunny day, hundreds of these stripy cloth-covered wooden frames can be seen on the sand as their occupiers sit and soak up the sun. They are always there when we need them, and when we are done, we leave them without a thought of what happens next. So spare a thought for the man who looks after nearly 250 deckchairs on his local beach, making sure they are in tip-top condition and ready for hire.
