IMR 4350 PROPELLANT

On 1 January 1800, Éleuthère Irénée du Pont set foot upon American soil after fleeing the French Revolution. He was a keen student and chemist, and by July 1802, he was making black powder under the DuPont name with machinery imported from France, supplying the US Army with black powder from 1805. Today, IMR (acquired by Hodgdon in 2003), a division created under the DuPont stable, is still a leader and innovator in all forms of firearm propellants.

While our own line of local Somchem propellant has been serving the needs of hunters and shooters for decades, the imported lines of propellant have opened up new avenues for the reloader. The IMR (Improved Military Rifle) range of propellants and black powder is vast, catering for every conceivable firearm and calibre. IMR and consult various sources before using any new propellant. Also, always apply the basic rules of reloading – start conservatively.
