Family mourn as mom dies in shooting

tragedy before mother’s day

A FAMILY will mark their first Mother’s Day this weekend without their beloved mother, grandmother and great gran.

On Thursday Dhanalutchmee Radha Pillay, 70, was shot while buying vegetables at a tent just metres from her home in Montford, Chatsworth.

It is alleged that Pillay was hit by a stray bullet during a shootout between residents and suspects who had allegedly hijacked a courier van at a nearby road.
