Since joining the Jupiter/Primrose Road Neighbourhood Watch six years ago, Shaveen Gopi put his life on the line every day to protect others.
On Sunday night, he was killed when he was stabbed in the neck while apprehending an intruder on his property.
Gopi, 33, of Northdale, Pietermaritzburg, lived on the property with his mother. He was not married and did not have children.
