Daisy Chain

Each Daisy Chain block is made of two matching arc units and two matching Dresden units. Helen hand quilted her quilt using Perle 12 thread and large stitches in a series of straight line patterns.

Materials

• 25cm (¼yd) each of 10 assorted yellow, lemon and gold print fabrics• 25cm (¼yd) each of eight assorted black/charcoal with white print fabrics• 25cm (¼yd) each of eight assorted cream with black/charcoal print fabrics• 2m (2¼yd) cream with black spot print fabric (border)• 60cm (5/8yd) yellow and black print fabric (binding)• 4m (4⅜yd) backing fabric• Batting at least 200cm (78in) square• Template plastic and fine permanent-marking pen• Sharp pencil or ceramic marker (for darker fabrics)• Size 9 milliners needle (hand piecing)• Sandpaper board (optional)• Sashiko needle and Perle• Rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat• Sewing machine with ¼in foot• General sewing supplies
