Hessler Award Honors Original Articles

he February 2023 issue of , the monthly newsletter of the Cincinnati Numismatic Association (Ohio), shared with the membership the finalized artist’s rendering of the organization’s Gene Hessler Literary Award. This new annual award was approved by the board at its meeting in May 2022. It will henceforth be awarded annually to the top three original articles published in the newsletter; nine will be presented initially, for articles that appeared in the regular monthly issues of 2020, the year of the club’s 90th anniversary, 2021, and the special anniversary issue published in August 2020. The dies for striking the medals are currently in production, with individual medals to be engraved with recipient names for presentation, originally planned.
