OUR COLOURFUL HOME has the max factor

My story

In our last home we kept the decor really rather neutral, but this time around we decided to create layers of colour on every wall and surface. I’m not keen on grey at all, and we wanted to avoid it in our interiors, but apart from that we had no hard and fast rules. I just wanted to embrace as much colour as possible and we looked for tones and patterns that would complement each other. We love to travel and find that it creates the chance to embrace interiors and design on a different level; we also really enjoy incorporating that inspiration into everyday life at home.

We started small with the downstairs toilet, with the bold wallpaper and teal paint giving us plenty of confidence to continue on with the rest of the house. Because this is a new-build, the kitchen and bathroomsput in so they were brand new and in perfectly good shape, but they’d been chosen by the builder, so we customised them to our taste. In the kitchen, we replaced the worktops and sink, painted the cabinets, and fitted new wall tiles and extra shelving to give us more storage in the small space - the one downside to this house.
