CORD CARE

The stump of cord that once attached your baby to you will drop off and, in its place, your baby's belly button will form. The cord starts off as a cream colour, drying and shrivelling like a piece of biltong. It usually falls off between seven to 10 days post-birth. Until it falls off on its own, it's best to keep this area as dry as possible.
