1 BOWL ME OVER!
Papier mâché will have you taking a jaunty trip down memory lane, back to your school days. It was – and still is – fun and messy in a squishy kind of way. Be inspired to creatively craft and colour gorgeous accessories for your home like these beautiful bowls and fruity treats. Instructions on page 130
Handmade homewares and sculptural works of art are all possible with papier mâché. The objects and curios found in Puglia’s churches, Mexican galleries and Cuban craft fairs attest to this. So join in the fun, recycle your newspapers and raid the pantry for the main ingredients. Happy crafting!
2 LIGHT AND SHADE
Create unique pendant lights using homemade glue and newspaper! For the base of a cylinder light, you can use a cereal box. As a mould for round shades, try a bowl or balloon. Be as colourful as you wish for your finish, as here, or go for stylish monochromatic white or black. Either way, dress up the inside of your pendants with copper leaf. Instructions on page 132
