Watching the sonographer pass the wand over my tummy, I couldn't wait to see my baby on the screen.
It was March 2016, and I was 20 weeks pregnant.
But although I was excited, the sonographer looked concerned.
‘It's the baby's heart,’ she said.
I was referred to a specialist.
My husband Richard, then 27, and I faced an agonising wait.
A week later, we learnt that our baby had tricuspid atresia.
‘The right side of the hear hasn't formed properly,’ the doctor explained.
We were given three horrible options.
