APPLIQUÉ PREPARATION AND CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS

See Page 95 for general appliqué preparation instructions. Since there are so many pieces to cut, it is highly recommended you organize them into groups. For example: paper-pieced large and stacked pots, pieced flowers and leaves, Star Block sun, potting shed, appliqué flowers and birds, and border flower and leaves. Cutting from the background print is listed to get the best use from each strip. Because of this, not all units for a section are cut within the same strip.

From light tan tone on tone, cut:

• 1 – 21 ½" x WOF strip, then sub-cut into:

1 – 21 ½" square for background below sun block

1 – 9 ½" x 12 ½" rectangle for background at right of sun block

1 – 6 ½" x 8 ½" rectangle for below stacked pots

1 – 5 ¼" square for sun block QST units

• 1 – 15 ½" x WOF strip, then sub-cut into:

1 – 15 ½" square for flower background above potting shed

2 – 5" x 15 ½" strips for each side of square above potting shed

1 – 10" x 15 ½" rectangle for background at right of third large pot

• 1 – 8 ½" x 30 ½" rectangle for top of right quilt section

• 1 – 7 ½" x WOF strip, then sub-cut into:

1 – 7 ½" x 12 ½" rectangle for left of bottom large flower

1 – 2 ½" x 7 ½" strip for right of bottom large flower

1 – 2 ½" x 6 ½" strip for right of bottom small flower
