ENGLAND Woodclose Park, Cumbria
This quiet, family-run site is in a perfect location to explore the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Park. However, if you just want a relaxing weekend without venturing far, there is plenty to do on and around the site.
We spent our first afternoon exploring Kirkby Lonsdale, a short 15-minute walk. We followed the footpath from the site down to Devil's Bridge, a magnificent three-arched bridge over the River Lune, dating from the thirteenth century. It is a popular meeting point for motorcycle enthusiasts at the weekends and is also a perfect location for picnics by the river followed by a delightful riverside walk.
We followed the path by the river and then climbed the 86 steps to Ruskin's View, so called because in 1875 John Ruskin described the view as one of the loveliest in England. We enjoyed a stunning panoramic view from the Howgills on the left to Ingleborough on the right.
There are many shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs in the town. As craft beer lovers, we visited the Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery tap house, which featured in series. The
