Fished in bright sunshine with very little wind the cold wasn’t too bad with some warmth in the sun. After several calm days the sea had cleared right out making conditions very hard indeed. Very few fish of any description were caught, flatties making up the bags along with the odd whiting. Winner of the £300 first prize was Rex Palmer fishing in front of the Hastings & St Leonards AA club with three fish for 1lb 9oz. He was the only angler to catch in his section. Rex also had the heaviest fish, a plaice of 12oz winning an Akios R10 reel.
■ Result: 1st Rex Palmer, Hastings, 1lb 9oz (4); 2nd Colin Crosby, Hastings, 11oz (3); 3rd Anton James, Portsmouth, 10oz (2). Zone winner: ZB Tom Wells, Deal (1), 10: SAMALITE CHESIL LEAGUE ROUND 12 OF 12, ABBOTSBURY
