The power of light on the eye

CANARIES

WITHOUT doubt, the one factor that promotes breeding conditioning above all else is the lengthening of daylight and light on the eye. During these winter months, you can feed all the supplements on the market and every additive known to man, but if your birds are kept in a dark, dull birdroom they will not reach top breeding condition. They may build a nest and lay eggs, but the bulk of them will be clear.

Conversely, you can just feed a good-quality seed mixture with greenfood but give your birds quality light – not extended beyond normal daylight hours
