“ IF YOU think your birds are ready, wait a week.” That was sound advice I was given by an experienced fancier many years ago and is a mantra I still follow to this day. For all of the planning and preparation you do, the birds will only begin to breed when they are ready. They won't breed by the calendar. There are many factors that can influence the birds: the availability of foodstuff and the temperature/light being the main ones, but another is climate/weather.
