BUILDING A FODEN SIX-WHEELER Part 1

never used to be into the steam world, but from a very young age I’ve been interested in anything mechanical. If I could get my hands on tools and something to dismantle or build I’d be well away. My father and uncle used to always be rebuilding a car or van in the barn. Or dad would be fixing something in the workshop. As time went by, when I was old enough I was brought a train set, and this led to exhibiting with another uncle who had a keen interest in railways. I have fond memories of my grandfather taking me to Mountfitchet Castle near Stanstead when a steam train was due to pass.
