Space Runaway

Some games start small and that’s exactly what happened with Space Runaway, Soleil’s excellent-looking mech-themed shoot-’em-up. Sergei Kolobashkin, CEO and creative director of 110 Industries, explains why the publisher decided to go big on its brand-new shoot-’em-up.

Where did the concept for Space Runaway originate?

, our third-person action title created by some of the talent behind that’s releasing on Valentine’s Day 2023 has a bunch of fun minigames in it. There are ramen-eating minigames, a rhythm action dance game and was another concept we had for a fun minigame, but it also came out of a desire to create an in-universe shooter that could have taken on a life of its own. It was very important for us that the game that would later become wasn’t an imitation.
