The traditional British cheeseboard consists of cheddar, stilton and brie – those are the rules. Cheddar and stilton are the twin jewels in the British cheese crown, while brie has appeared on cheeseboards since the Normans arrived. In that vein, we’ve added a couple of well-loved French cheeses to our extra selection. Our friends in the north have also made a contribution to the Great British Christmas with cheese and Christmas cake. Here we have Lancashire, or, if you were feeling more Yorkist, substitute with a firm yet creamy Wensleydale.
