Principal importer: Dave Sheer Guns. Brand-new and exclusive.
The Turkish firm Istanbul Silah has been producing shotguns since 2003. Their first foray into the rifle market was in 2018, when they launched the Monza model. Monza rifles are imported by Dave Sheer Guns, and the test rifle was supplied by Irene Arms in Pretoria. The Monza rifle is aimed at the lower-priced end of the market.
The test rifle, chambered in .308 Win, sports a 20” bull barrel that is factory-threaded for a suppressor and measures 20 mm at the crown, which is cut at 11 degrees. It has a 1:10 twist rate. The barrel and action are both anodised to a semi-gloss, appealing finish. The front sight is a nonadjustable, orange fibre-optic pin, and the rear sight is incorporated into a full-length, removable Picatinny rail that is factory-fitted. Windage adjustment is achieved by turning a screw on the right-hand side of the Picatinny rail. Elevation adjustment is made by turning the rear sight itself
