Aquaponics
If you think growing crops without fertilizer sounds a bit fishy, think again! Aquaponics is a clever way of farming that combines fish farming and growing crops. Aquaponic farmers don’t use any fertiliser. Water circulates between fish tanks and hydroponically grown plants. Aquaponics saves money, water and fertiliser since the water is reused and the waste produced by the fish serves as fertiliser for the crops. It’s a win-win for the fish and the farmer!
