Of course, if you’re lucky enough to have a woodfired oven in your backyard, you’re halfway there, but all these recipes have been created with an everyday domestic oven in mind, from pizza al trancio (pizza tray) with baby zucchini flowers and creamy taleggio or individual mini pizzettes suitable for vegans to the mighty king of all pizza: the calzone, stuffed until close to eruption with ricotta and spicy ’nduja. Then, of course, there’s the crowd pleaser that will turn your folks into true pizza addicts – Neapolitan pizza fritta, savoury doughnuts topped with a marinara sauce and bocconcini… Mamma mia! Add a salad of pickled beetroot, blackberries and goat’s cheese and some sweet nibbles (most of which you can prepare ahead of time) and you’re sure to have the makings of a memorable festa Italiana!
