When Suzanne was young, her father would grow huge sunflowers in their orchard every year, some reaching seven feet tall! They would cut the top of the sunflowers off, let them dry, and harvest the seeds to eat.

□ ⅓ yard total of cream prints for scrappy sunflower backgrounds (8 – 1½" cream print strips) □ Variety of 8 – 2½" strips light gold prints for sunflowers □ Variety of 8 – 1½" strips dark gold prints for sunflowers □ Variety of 8 – 2½" □ 1 ½" strip light green print for sashing □ ⅛ yard dark green print for sashing □ ½ yard black print for border, sashing, and binding □ ⅝ yard fabric of choice for backing
