Holding my newborn, Jill, I couldn’t believe that the years of hope and heartbreak were finally over.

It was March 2001, and my husband Jerry, then 31, and I had married six years earlier, and were excited to start a family.

But I was diagnosed with endometriosis, docs had warned it would be difficult.

Eventually, in July 2000, we’d accepted it would never happen.

But one month later, I was pregnant!

Jill was our miracle. We loved watching her grow up.

Wherever we went, Jill made friends.
