Sitting in my car in the car park with tears running down my face, staring at the windscreen, paralysed with emotions … It’s not exactly the picture you’d expect of someone who had only half an hour before received a riotous standing ovation from a theatre full of high school students after speaking to them on the subject of the principles of embracing your body.

What should have been a moment of triumph for me was quickly dampened by the intimate stories I was being told afterwards by young girls and boys about their feelings towards their bodies. One gorgeous teen even mentioned that she had considered ending her life because of the disgust she felt for her body.
