Educating the public at the West Chiltington Village Show
WEST GRINSTEAD BIRD SOCIETY
THE society made a return visit in July this year, to stage a small exhibition at the local West Chiltington Village Show which was last held in 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This annual show has many of the activities traditionally associated with this type of event: a large variety of stalls, various produce shows, baking and art competitions and tug of war matches to name a few.
The society’s first outing in 2019 provided much to consider and reflect upon and this proved to be invaluable in staging the exhibition this year. At that event the society had only a small marquee and a few tables upon which to stage the birds, and whilst staging a good variety of species, the club unfortunately had little information displayed on the species staged.
