ACCURASCALE CLASS 55 ‘DELTIC’

hen Accurascale chose the Deltic as its first UK locomotive announcement, I asked Director of Communications, Fran Burke, why the manufacturer had chosen the Class 55. “Go big or go home!” was the response – it was certainly a big undertaking to choose such a high profile and evocative prototype with an expectation of producing a model that would sit at the top of the tree, standards-wise. It’s been a lengthy and challenging project for the team, with design changes and tweaks, pandemic-disrupted processes, and an ever-expectant marketplace curious to see if it could live up to the hype.
