Straight from the box
BEAUTIFULLY packaged and presented, the brand-new 4mm scale Class 55 model, on first examination, appears to deserve the care taken with its extravagant foamed-lined box, together with the nicely produced owner’s manual, instructions and sheet of four-character train reporting codes. It looked spectacular at first glance, especially for the starting price of £160.
Pulling the inner packaging carefully from the box revealed something that has been reported by numerous modellers: a small number of detached parts including corner foot steps, bogie guards (life-savers) and hand brake chains.
