AUGUST FLOWERBED

BEHIND THE QUILT

MODULAR GARDEN

“My own garden is often a source of inspiration; looking at the way a flower blooms or a weed can grow in the most impossible place. And as many gardeners do, I go to my local garden centre to get seedlings and material for my patch of green. In Australia, we have a lot of raised garden beds in flat packs with different options of putting it together; square, rectangle, ovals etc. And that’s what gave me the idea for this quilt! Gardeners buy more or less the same plants, but where and the type of arrangement we do is limitless. This pattern is about creating your own garden. With square raised garden beds as your base, it’s up to you where to plant your flowers and seedlings, how many per bed, how tall they're going to grow... make it a happy garden for you, weeds are okay too!” – Véronique Diligent
