A PURICELLI ROLLER RE-DISCOVERED IN VENICE

Some years ago, in September 2013, OG 283 carried a photograph of a Milan-built Puricelli steam roller converted to diesel-hydraulic power which was located at Forte Marghera between Venice Mestre and the tourist magnet of Venice itself. An interesting rail and tram tour to northern Italy organised by UK travel company PTG in May provided an opportunity of confirming the roller’s continued existence in the same location.
