ride for big dave
In late August, 2020 the biking industry was smacked with the news that all-round legend David “Big Dave” Marsicano, (aka Buller Dave) had suddenly died. His long time partner Nikki and all that knew him were devastated. Years have passed, and it was deemed fitting to organise a Vic High Country ride in his honour. Nikki together with Jason O’Brien of Mt Buller Motorcycle Adventures invited all to attend a two day “Ride 4 Big Dave” commemorative event.
This was a paid gig with some 65 riders plus associated support crew (another 13) all gathered for a crisp early morning start in late-April. We had arrived the night before to stay at their palatial guesthouse in Merrijig where we were welcomed on arrival by being given a spanner to assist with a tyre and sprocket change on a new DR650 to get her ready for the ride the next day. Nothing like leaving things to the last minute!
