Do It In The Dark
Kowen is a state forest located just outside of Canberra. It’s a sprawling pine forest that’s been a go-to mecca for dirtbike riders for decades. Comprising hundreds of kilometrs of single track, this riding area was closed to the public decades ago due to liability reasons. The only way to ride these sweet tracks is to enter the annual Kowen rides hosted by the Dual Sport Motorcycle Riders Association.
Year after year the event has got bigger, with well over 1000 attendees at the last event held in 2019. Last year was a bust with COVID and the club was sent backwards substantially by having to refund all entry fees and raffle off the prizes which were new The DSMRA organisers were keen to host some form of a ride this year, so the idea was floated to reduce the rider count and hold something a bit more “full on”, hence the concept of a Night Ride was born.
