The Unlikely Cowhorse
It didn’t matter that Amy Gallon’s family were not into horses—she just loved them, and began asking for a horse at the age of just three, keeping that up for the next four years. Her parents were keen to support her dreams, so purchased their daughter’s first horse when she was seven. Amy enjoyed working with that horse every day, eventually meeting a Show Jumping trainer who lived down the road, inspiring her to take up jumping.
Beginning Pony Club a year later, Amy was soon competing in Jumping, Eventing, Dressage, Sporting and Gymkhanas. She then started assisting her coach in re-training retired racehorses for Show Jumping, Eventing and Dressage. Later, she met another trainer who introduced her to Cutting and cutting horses. She loved the sport and when not training jumping horses, learned as much as she could about working cattle and training cowhorses.
