Further to our conversation, from 1971-78 I was associated with the Burrell showman’s road loco No. 2625 Lady Pride of England, built in February 1904. In those days it was owned by the late Frank Lobb of Newbold-on-Stour, near Stratford-upon-Avon.
During those years, I took many photographs of the engine and events we attended (when crewing permitted) and some events I visited on a ‘busman’s holiday.’ These colour photos were mounted in large albums and were often passed around the steam fraternity for ‘orders’ for duplicate prints for various crews, owners and showmen. I parted company with the steam scene due to marriage and then children, although whenever I could I went to various events in the 1980s.
I then let someone ‘borrow’ the albums so he could mark up the ones
