Record increases in maize and oilseed prices in April

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ International Food Price Index averaged 159,3 points in March, the highest level since its inception in 1990. This was driven by record month-on-month (m/m) increases in the price of grains and vegetable oils, up 17,1% and 23,2% respectively.
