A Day in Her Life

We’ve all heard the saying “women belong in the kitchen” and rightfully rolled our eyes. The saying is loaded in misogyny and prejudice, but what it lacks in, ironically, is substance and sense. The food and beverage industry around the world is largely dominated by men: restaurateurs, head chefs, management staff, you name it.

So whenever we get the chance to celebrate women in the industry, we’ll snap up at it. To learn more about moving up the ladder, supporting other women in the industry and looking forward to the future, we sit down with Mandy Goh, executive chef at The St Regis Langkawi, and Suzana Anwar, pastry chef at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.
