There are clear signs that the world is heading towards a historic food price crisis after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February.
The two countries are among the world’s largest agricultural producers and exporters.
Russia and Ukraine collectively account for around 26% of global wheat exports (with Russia making up 18% and Ukraine 8%), 19% of global maize exports, and 80% of global sunflower oil exports.
