When I was 4-years-old, my favourite TV show was The Greatest American Hero. Aired in New Zealand in the early 80s, it was the story of a mild-mannered school teacher who was abducted by aliens and given a special suit that gave him superpowers. I was a super fan. My mum put together a costume for me – a red jumpsuit with a cape. Wearing it, I thought I could fly if I just tried hard enough. I gave it a go one day.
