I am watching: The brand-new sci-fi series Halo season 1 on Showmax.

My take on this show: Like the classic Alien films, Halo does a great job of dropping you in its world and letting you catch up. Many of the events early on are as much a surprise to some of the characters as they are to you, as the UNSC… the United Nations Space Command battle Covenant, a religious-military organisation of advanced aliens. Wherever the story goes, everything you see is worth looking at twice: Character design, costume and tech are incredible, and it’s clear that it makes great use of the game franchise’s 20 years of expertise.

My favourite moment so far: I haven’t gotten far yet, so episode 1 seeing the Covenant Prophet Of Mercy in the floating throne and flashbacks to the alien Dominar Rygel from sci-fi series Farscape was fun.
