It is no secret that the Columbia River Gorge – that magnificent river canyon that stretches from Southeastern British Columbia to the Pacific Ocean – holds some of the best rivers on the planet. Very few are actually from here, but those that are have been shaped and molded by this paradise of rivers and mountains, and the diverse community it draws. Growing up in Trout Lake, WA, Naomi Elyard first learned how to kayak after working in the kitchen of one of the local rafting companies. Obsession took over from there.
