RALLY REVIEW 2021 PART ONE
With the Covid-19 situation as it was in late winter and spring, public events were a no, no and so the rally season didn’t get started hesitantly until the first weekend in June. As the season went on, things got a little easier, however over half of the events that normally take place just didn’t happen, particularly the Great Dorset Steam Fair, for a second time.
Looking back now, most of the South-East area events went ahead, although rain in late July-early August caused various problems. In one case, the organiser moved the event on by a week and dropped the entrance price by half and still had a wonderful weekend.
However, events in the South West, Midlands, East Anglia in most cases were totally wiped out, but in Cheshire and Yorkshire, both good tractor strongholds the major events in July to September went ahead. Although the June Sheffield rally was called off at the last minute, thanks mostly to the council getting heavy-handed. But
