Like mother, like daughter

Standing beside me as we looked in the mirror, my daughter Erin, then 17, nodded.

‘That’s definitely the wig for you,’ she smiled as I smoothed down the brown strands.

We’d always loved our mum-and-daughter shopping trips, only this time it was a little different.

It was October 2019 and I’d begun treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma, a rare form of cancer.

I’d found a lump on my neck just a month before.

Tests at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital revealed it had already spread to my bone marrow and kidneys.
