I FIRST became aware of the so-called feather duster syndrome way back in the early 1970s. Originally I read about it in Cage & Aviary Birds, but then I witnessed live birds in their nest-boxes while visiting my great friend and mentor Doug Sadler. At the time, Doug was only a beginner breeder yet was renowned for having one of the best aviaries in the UK.
