HOW TO… MARZIPAN AND ICE A CHRISTMAS CAKE

Making the Box family Christmas cake every year is something I really look forward to. It’s become a tradition in our house and the festivities wouldn’t be complete without it. In this article, I’m going to show you how I like to cover my Christmas cake in marzipan and sugarpaste icing, what you can use instead, and what to do if you’ve forgotten to make one in time.

The great thing about Christmas cake is how long it lasts. Traditionally, it’s best to start making your cake 2-3 months before the big day, to give it time to mature and to allow enough time to ‘feed’ the cake with alcohol so it’s nice and rich. However, if you’re a bit late to the party
