SWAP MEET

GM MIDSIZE DISC BRAKE SPINDLES

Q:I am planning on taking off the disc brakes under a 1970 Chevrolet Camaro, to transplant them into my 1968 Pontiac GTO. Will I need to change any parts for this swap to work?

Joe Motion Via Hemmings.com

A: The 1970 Camaro is not the best donor car for this type of swap. The control arms and spindles on the F-body Camaro and Firebird were different in 1970-’76 than the 1967-’69 disc-brake spindles. You can use the 1967-’69 Camaro/Firebird spindles
