T-10 IN A CLASSIC T-BIRD?
Q:I am looking for a four-speed manual transmission to fit in a 1956 Thunderbird with the 312-cu.in. engine. I’m considering a Borg-Warner T-10 or a Ford Toploader four-speed. Can you help me find what I need to make this installation work?

A: You are going to need a Quick Time #RM-8056 bellhousing adapter, which will allow you to install a B-W T-10 four-speed or a Ford Toploader four-speed. You will also have to change to a mini starter like the Powermaster #9506. The Toploader is probably the transmission you will find more readily available, but either will fit the adapter.
