If there’s a time in life NOT to let your health and fitness slide it’s in your middle years. While your younger self was afforded a bit of latitude and ‘getting away with it’, the story is very different as you hit your fourth and fifth decades. Life will have happened, of course – work, children perhaps, a busy household, maybe an injury setback or two, possibly an over-reliance on sugary pick-me-ups to ease any stress… it can all have an accumulative effect that raises its head later in life.
