WHEN APOTHECARRY BRANDS LAUNCHED IN 2015, FOUNDER and CEO Whitney Beatty wanted to distinguish the brand from other cannabis-adjacent companies. Most cannabis accessories and products were limited to cheap options, leaving out the class of people who smoke—but also like to spend a bit more.

“People told me that there was no luxury space for cannabis,” Beatty said. “They told me again and again and again. I heard it from investors and from the retailers that I was trying to push into.”

Therewas anoticeable lack of cases built like humidors that could store cannabis for long periods of time, designed mostly for people who have money to blow—people who purchase larger personal quantities of cannabis
